O9: Earth Worm Bin – Intro to Vermicomposting

Vermicomposting aka Worm composting is a great way to get rid of your kitchen food wastes. In return you end up with rich nutritious humus. No not the chickpea hummus you use as dipping sauce… I mean worm casting, or in real simple terms, worm poop. It’s a natural fertilizer that you can use on your indoor plants or in your garden! I started a worm farm last July, so I wanted to share my experience, some tips and information on worm composting. Who knows maybe you will want to start this fun project yourself!

Reasons to compost with worms:
– put your food waste to good use rather than filling up the landfill.
– no need to buy fertilizers
– no chemicals
– they reproduce so you don’t have to keep buying more!
– It’s fun!
